Maximize sales - How to broaden your revenue streams

Small digital products like e-books, guides, templates or mini-courses can be a goldmine in your business. They require little effort to create, can be delivered automatically (we love passive income!) and open the door to more sales and increased income. But how do you best get a good result?

  • Lead magnet : Give away a free product to collect email addresses and get people to take the first step to your channels. By sending out emails continuously where they get to know you and what value you can offer the customer, you warm up your leads and process them towards a later purchase.

This way you attract the right people to your lists - people who will later need your products. Otherwise, marketing can cost a lot of money and often be shown to the wrong customer groups. A lead magnet is therefore a great way to market yourself!
  • Tripwire offer: Offer a low-priced product to everyone who has received free products or registered for your webinars, workshops or other offers. Everyone who has shown interest in your free offers should be offered this low-priced product. Once the customer has bought once and been satisfied, it is very likely that they will return and buy something more expensive.

You can offer this product directly when the customer signs up or downloads your free resource. Even if the amount is low, you have at least received a turnover and all streams are important.
  • Bonus: Offering a bonus gives the customer a very high value for the product/service they are about to buy. It can also act as a small nudge or enticement for the customer to actually buy your main product. The customer does not pay for the bonus, but the bonus gives increased value to the product and can entice the customer to actually purchase the main product.
  • Order Bump: Offer a complementary digital product directly at checkout to larger offers/products/services. It should be cheap and easy to add to their order, and it should be something that complements and enhances the experience of the product/service the customer is about to purchase.
  • Upsell: Offer another complementary digital product directly after the purchase. This should also be cheaper than the main product and very easy to just click "yes please!". It could also be part 2 of your course at a very good price.
  • Downsell: Offer a cheaper alternative if the customer rejects your product. Maybe the customer wants a cheaper alternative because for various reasons they are not yet ready to fully invest in themselves. By offering something less, you still get a customer! (Maybe they will also buy your main product later!)
  • Subscription content: Add small digital products to a membership (like a regular subscription service) every month. This gives you an additional revenue stream, but also ongoing value for the customer.
  • Workshop or webinar bonus : Give away a checklist or template that enhances your live content. Give the customer a lot of value, it builds trust and generates purchases later!
  • Affiliate product : Let others market your small products for commission - win win!
  • Customer Service : Send bonus products, offers, and valuable content to existing customers to build loyalty. Everyone who has made a purchase from you (big or small) should be treated as a VIP in your business.
  • Packaging: Combine several small digital products into a “bundle” offering.
  • Test topics : Make a simple, smaller product and sell it at a low price to quickly test the market and see if the topic is actually something that would sell well. This gives you an opportunity to investigate how good your idea actually is before you invest too much in it yourself.
  • Limited : Release limited-edition products. An example could be products that you only offer every Black Friday, or before every Christmas. This means that it is only available during that period and gives a feeling of FOMO and increases the desire to buy.

Examples: Ready-made planning for entrepreneurs ahead of holidays, templates for social media or workshops that solve time-bound problems.

Summary

Smaller digital products can make a big difference in your business, not just as revenue streams in themselves, but as tools to build relationships, create trust, and increase value throughout your customer journey. Start with one or two of the ideas above and see how they can boost your sales significantly!
